Israel Business Visa Guide

Find out which electronic authorisation you need for your business trip to Israel's dynamic and innovative economy.

Doing Business in Israel

Israel, known as the "Start-Up Nation," has a thriving economy that attracts business professionals from across the globe. To facilitate these important commercial ties, the entry process has been simplified with new digital authorisations.

Whether you are attending a conference, meeting with clients, or exploring investment opportunities, you will need pre-travel approval. The correct document—either an **ETA-IL** or an **eVisa-B2**—is determined by your nationality.

Which Authorisation Do You Need for Business?

For Visa-Exempt Nationals (ETA-IL)

If you hold a passport from a visa-exempt country (e.g., USA, UK, EU), the standard **ETA-IL** covers short-term business activities. There is no separate business ETA.

Permitted Business Activities:

  • Attending business meetings, consultations, or negotiations.
  • Participating in scientific, educational, or professional conferences.
  • Conducting independent research.
The ETA-IL does **not** permit you to engage in paid work or employment within Israel. For that, a B/1 Work Visa is required.

For Visa-Required Nationals (eVisa-B2)

If you are a citizen of a country that requires a visa, you must apply for an **eVisa-B2** and specify that the purpose of your visit is business.

Additional Documents for Business Applicants:

  • Invitation Letter: An official letter from the Israeli company you are visiting, detailing the purpose and duration of your trip.
  • Employer's Letter: A letter from your current employer confirming your position, salary, and that they are sponsoring your business trip.
  • Proof of Business Ties: Evidence of prior correspondence or commercial relationships can strengthen your application.
Like the ETA-IL, the eVisa-B2 for business does **not** grant the right to work in Israel.
